Central Coast Mariners have been acquired by Total Soccer Growth, with owner Ruben Gnanalingam expressing his excitement to build a club the Central Coast can be proud of.

What happened?

The acquisition includes the A-League men's team and the Academy for both boys and girls, but excludes the A-League Women's team. The APL is working to find a partner for the women's team, with the aim of enabling them to participate in the 2026-27 season.

Why it matters for Central Coast Mariners

As of 24 Jun 2026, the team is currently 9th in the league, with 32 points from 26 games, and a recent form of LWDLD. Their last result was a 4-0 loss to Newcastle Jets on 2026-04-25. Gnanalingam's vision for the club includes success on the pitch and off it, with a focus on player development and community engagement.

What comes next?

Matt Simon remains as Sporting Director and is already building the playing and coaching structure for the season ahead. A new CEO will be appointed, someone who shows a strong understanding of the club and the community, and shares the ambition for what the Mariners can become. The team will take operational control on 1 July 2026, and fans can expect more information on the season ahead, including membership, ticketing, and the playing programme.
