Central Coast Mariners have been sold to Total Soccer Growth Holdings, the majority shareholder of English club Queens Park Rangers. The sale, announced on 23 Jun 2026, only includes the men's A-League team and the club's academy.
What's next?
The future of the women's team is in doubt, with coach Kory Babington told his services would not be required next season. The APL will continue to search for an investor for the women's team.
New owner's vision
Ruben Gnanalingam, TSG majority shareholder, said he was "delighted" to make an entry into the A-League. He plans to restore energy and enthusiasm for the club, both on and off the pitch. The Mariners finished 9th in the league, with 32 points from 26 games, and a recent form of LWDLD. Their last result was a 4-0 loss to Newcastle Jets on 2026-04-25.
Turbulent time for former champions
The announcement provides some stability for the Mariners, six months after former owner Mike Charlesworth handed back the club's license. The women's team, defending champions, finished 7th in the league. The men's team won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
New buyer welcomed
Central Coast mayor Lawrie McKinna welcomed the news, saying it's great that there's now security and the club can start rebuilding.
