Central Coast Mariners have appointed club legend John Hutchinson as their new Head Coach ahead of the 2026-27 Isuzu UTE A-League season. Hutchinson joins the club on a two-year deal having most recently been in charge of J2 League side Júbilo Iwata.
What happened?
The 46-year-old was also previously part of Aussie great Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff at J1 League giants Yokohama F. Marinos.
Hutchinson is still the Mariners all-time leading appearance maker having played 271 games for the club during a 10 year association with the Central Coast.

A popular figure in Gosford, Hutchinson is excited to be back at the Mariners. He said: “It’s an incredibly special feeling to be back at the Mariners. This club has been such a huge part of my life.”
